"The Black History of Southeast Missouri Through Art" is on display February 5 - 28. Information technology features pieces special to the show and some in the museum's permanent collection. Contributors include Cory Matthews, Anthony Williams, George Young, Sally Ware and the internationally renowned Dean Mitchell.

Nosotros are honored to over again host the work of this remarkable creative person. Dean's art will be on brandish at the Margaret Harwell Art Museum Nov half dozen - Dec 31, 2021.

Dean's first solo exhibit was at the Margaret Harwell Fine art Museum in Poplar Bluff, MO. Since then he has gained national and international acclaim. His works are in the St. Louis Art Museum, The Nelson-Atkins and the Kemper Museum of Contemporary Fine art, both in Kansas City, the Phoenix ARt Museum, and countless galleries and private collections across the land.

Regional Juried Art Exhibit

October 3-31, 2021

This year, the exhibit volition be held in October. It's a month before than last year and then get your pictures framed and set for hanging. The opening date and reception/award presentation is Sunday, October tertiary, from i:00 till iv:00 p.g. the showroom volition run through Lord's day, Oct 31st.

Take-in solar day will be Sabbatum, September 25, from ten:00 a.m. till 4:00 p.1000. at the Margaret Harwell Art Museum. Entries will be accepted prior to that date starting immediately, during regular museum hours.

For only $25.00, artists may enter up to three works of fine art in eight categories. They are: Oil, Watercolor, Acrylic, Pastels, Mixed Media, 3-Dimensional, Fiber, and Graphic Arts. And this will also pay for your membership to the Poplar Bluff Artist Guild.

There will be ribbons and cash prizes: $200.00 Best-in-Show, $l.00, $25.00, and $15.00 for First Second, and Third in all eight categories.

Equally always, this prestigious event is sponsored by Commerce Depository financial institution, with boosted funding by the Missouri Arts Council (MAC), a state bureau.

Ralph Freer & Mack Warren

July 2-25, 2021

Mack retired after his teaching career brought him to 3 Rivers. He's won numerous awards for his paintings, sculptures and photography. Mack has a gallery on Misty Lake Drive. He is also a musician, and a veteran, who played trumpet in the 62nd Army Band.

Ralph grew upwardly in this surface area, then spent many years in Key West FL. He won commencement place at the 1996 Old Island Days Festival there and has won numerous awards since. His work is in collection in Germany, Canada equally well every bit the United states. His "Bobby Soxer" sculpture graces the Friends Sculpture Garden at the Margaret Harwell Art Museum. Ralph owns the Flight F Art Gallery on the old family subcontract 8740 Highway Westward, in the onetime family Country store.
